This article examines the representation of marriage and spousal relations in German proverbs from a linguocultural perspective. The study analyzes the semantic features of paremiological units related to marriage, as well as their cultural and social meanings and communicative functions. The analysis reveals that German proverbs often interpret marriage as a divinely predetermined union while emphasizing ideas such as careful partner selection, thoughtful decision-making, and the principle of monogamy. The research employs paremiological, linguocultural, linguopragmatic, and semantic methods of analysis. The results show that proverbs about marriage reflect the family values, gender roles, and social perceptions of the German people and function as important linguocultural units.
