Annotatsiya

This article theoretically elucidates the concepts of the phonological system and phonological structure and provides a comparative analysis of the phonological systems of the Uzbek and English languages. The main purpose of the study is to identify the phonemic systems, oppositions, phonological features, and internal functional connections of the two languages and to demonstrate their similarities and differences. The research employs methods of structural phonology and comparative linguistics. The results indicate that the Uzbek language exhibits stronger synharmonicity and phonemic stability, whereas the English language is characterized by greater phonemic variation and a more complex accent system.
