This article provides a scholarly account of the linguo-cognitive interpretation of the “cooperation” concept in English and Uzbek diplomatic discourse and models its conceptual field. The study draws on conceptual field theory, a linguo-cognitive approach, discourse–pragmatic analysis, and a comparative method, partitioning the “cooperation” concept into nuclear, near-peripheral, and far-peripheral semantic layers. The analysis shows that in English diplomatic speech, the concept of “cooperation” encodes institutional-legal regulation, strategic partnership, and multilateral diplomatic integration, whereas in Uzbek diplomatic discourse, hamkorlik is semantically enriched by mutual respect, good-neighborliness, amicable warmth, and cultural affinity. The findings demonstrate cross-cultural divergence in the cognitive modeling of “cooperation” and variation in the formation of semantic dominants within its conceptual field. By identifying the conceptual field model in English and Uzbek diplomatic discourse, this study helps mitigate semantic mismatches in international communication and highlights the linguocultural features of national diplomatic language.
