This article examines the emergence of new lexical units in digital discourse and analyzes their functional characteristics. The study is based on materials from social networks, blogs, online forums, and digital media in Uzbek and English. Particular attention is paid to neologisms, abbreviations, metaphorical expressions, and hybrid lexical forms that arise in the digital environment. The research also explores the communicative, pragmatic, and stylistic functions of these lexical innovations from a comparative perspective. The findings demonstrate that digital discourse serves as a powerful catalyst for lexical development and contributes significantly to the expansion of functional and expressive capacities of modern languages.
