This article analyzes the etymology, basic and figurative meanings, phraseological regularities, as well as the features of their pragmatic use of the lexemes “yurak” and “jigar” widely used in the Uzbek language. The study is based on historical-linguistic materials, comparative data between Turkic languages, and practical corpus observations. The results show that both lexemes not only denote anatomical concepts, but also carry a strong symbolic load in the folk mentality, speech culture, and emotional communication.
