This article analyzes the linguistic and functional features of documents used in diplomatic policy-making, as well as the political terms associated with them. Within the scope of the research, the origin of the concept of diplomacy, the stages of its historical development, its interrelation with politics, and the formal, semantic, and stylistic aspects of diplomatic documents are examined. In addition, the implicit semantic load and pragmatic functions of political terms in contemporary diplomatic practice are illustrated through examples.
