This article provides a scientific analysis of hypernym–hyponym manifestations in the gender-oriented vocabulary of Russian. It explores how the language both reflects and shapes gender stereotypes through hierarchical lexical relations. The author examines manifestations of traditional patriarchal attitudes in vocabulary used to describe professional, social, and family roles, as well as in evaluative descriptors. The asymmetry in which masculine forms function as hypernyms for mixed-gender groups is highlighted. The paper also analyzes contemporary trends toward gender neutrality and the role of language in media and advertising. The study concludes that language is not merely a reflection but an active tool for shaping sociocultural realities, and that its analysis is crucial for understanding and promoting gender equality.
