This article examines the syntactic combinability of emotive-evaluative adjectives in English and Uzbek from a comparative perspective. The study focuses on the interaction between the semantic and syntagmatic properties of these adjectives, particularly their realization in attributive, predicative, exclamatory, and one-word sentence patterns. Emotive-evaluative adjectives are interpreted not only as lexical units denoting a quality but also as means of expressing the speaker’s evaluative attitude, emotional reaction, and communicative intention. The analysis shows that in both languages, the attributive model is the most stable syntactic environment for such adjectives, while predicative, exclamatory, and one-word sentence models reveal their pragmatic and illocutionary potential more clearly.
