This article examines the theoretical and legal essence of the ethical requirements imposed on persons appointed to the position of prosecutor, the importance of moral qualities in the activities of prosecution bodies, and the need to clearly define such requirements in legislation. The author substantiates the significant role of such qualities as honesty, justice, objectivity, truthfulness, and respect for human rights in the professional activities of prosecutors and puts forward proposals to supplement certain provisions of the Law “On the Prosecutor’s Office” with moral and ethical requirements.
