This article examines the historical stages of the formation and development of the institution of the trademark, as well as the contemporary features of its protection under national legal regulation. It analyzes the main stages in the development of trademark legislation in foreign countries and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Particular attention is paid to the reform of the intellectual property system in Uzbekistan, the improvement of the regulatory and legal framework, the digitalization of public services, and the modern procedure for trademark registration. Based on this analysis, the article substantiates the importance of effective legal protection for trademarks in fostering competition, protecting the rights of right holders, and stimulating innovative activity.
