The article analyzes mathematical terminology according to its structural components and thematic groups. The purpose the work is to classify terms by form, conceptual function, and field of use. The study uses descriptive, componential and semantic-classificatory methods. The results show that mathematical terminology consists of simple, derived, compound, multi-word and symbolic-verbal units. Its main thematic groups cover number and quantity, algebra, geometry, analysis, probability and statistics, logic and applied mathematics. Such classification is important for translation, bilingual dictionaries, textbook preparation and the teaching of mathematical language.
