This scholarly article presents a comprehensive analysis of the role, significance, and relevance of forensic psychological examinations in the modern judicial and legal system. The study examines the legal and scientific foundations for determining an individual’s psychological state in criminal and civil cases, particularly states of affect, intellectual-volitional characteristics, and the psychological traits of minors. Drawing on the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Forensic Examination” and the newly revised Constitution, the paper examines the role of the expert psychologist in the administration of justice, as well as the theoretical and practical problems of assessing the reliability of witness and victim testimony. The article also substantiates the prospects for conducting forensic psychophysiological examinations using modern information technologies and digital tools and discusses the ethical principles of expert activity. The research findings indicate that psychological knowledge, applied through specialized research methods, is crucial for ensuring objectivity in judicial practice and imposing just punishment.
