This article analyzes state protection and guarantees of women’s rights and freedoms, as well as ongoing reforms in this area. It examines the legal framework for increasing women’s participation in the New Uzbekistan society and preventing all forms of oppression and violence. The article also considers best international practices in preventing violence and oppression against women. Proposals and recommendations for improving legislation in this area are developed.
