This article analyzes the theoretical and methodological foundations for studying the history of Iranian political parties. The research employs modern scientific methods, including institutional, civilizational, and elite theories, to reveal the specific features of the Iranian political system. The author characterizes Iran’s party system as a model of “hybrid” and “controlled pluralism,” emphasizing the dominance of informal political networks and religious-ideological factors over formal institutions. The article provides a comparative analysis of historical transformations from the Constitutional Revolution to the modern era and scientifically substantiates the need for an integrative methodology in studying Iranian political processes.
