This study analyzes the methodology of information verification (fact-checking) concerning environmental security within Uzbekistan's media landscape, using the publications Anhor.uz and Ekolog.uz as case studies. The complexity of environmental topics and their impact on public consciousness have made ensuring informational reliability a primary requirement of journalism. The study comparatively examines the fact-checking processes of these publications, their strategies for working with official data, and their mechanisms for verifying "raw" information from social networks. It also assesses the role of journalistic verification methods—such as using multiple sources, obtaining expert evaluations, and cross-referencing official documents—in neutralizing environmental disinformation. The findings of this research will contribute to developing practical recommendations for advancing fact-checking standards in environmental journalism and ensuring information security.
