This article provides a comprehensive examination of the concept of medical harm, its contributing factors and types, as well as the criteria determining the civil liability of healthcare professionals, from the perspective of international experience and comparative jurisprudence. The study conducts a comparative analysis of the legislation and judicial practice of Germany, the United States, Italy, France, New Zealand, Sweden, Japan, and Russia, and highlights methods for the systematic and individual analysis of medical errors. The article provides a detailed examination of the concepts of lex artis (professional standards), informed consent, causation, defensive medicine, and no-fault compensation systems. The findings of the study are aimed at improving the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and developing scientifically grounded proposals for regulating modern legal relations in the healthcare sector. The article also discusses the legal aspects of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, telemedicine, and robotic surgery.
