This article examines the repressive policies implemented by the Soviet authorities against local intellectuals in Uzbekistan, who were unjustly accused, deported, imprisoned, or executed during the period of political repression. The study analyzes the tragic consequences of these policies and highlights the historical injustice inflicted upon representatives of the national intelligentsia. Since independence, systematic efforts have been undertaken to restore the names, dignity, and historical legacy of the victims of repression. Special attention is given to state-level initiatives aimed at rehabilitating repressed individuals, particularly the policies pursued during the leadership of President Islam Karimov and the continued reforms under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The article emphasizes the importance of preserving historical memory and ensuring justice for the victims of political repression.
