This scientific article examines the main issues relating to the powers of officials authorized to conduct preliminary investigations, the jurisdiction of the criminal case, investigation deadlines, the participation of witnesses in procedural actions, ensuring the secrecy of the investigation, and the activities of an investigator group. The article also develops specific proposals for the further improvement of Uzbekistan’s criminal procedure legislation based on the best practices of foreign countries.
