Annotatsiya

The article examines international legal standards for the investigation of cybercrime and the necessity of involving specialists possessing specialized knowledge in the fields of information technology and digital forensics. The paper analyzes the role of specialists in criminal proceedings, particularly in the collection, documentation, and examination of electronic evidence. Special attention is paid to international legal instruments regulating these issues, including the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the Council of Europe Convention on Cybercrime (the Budapest Convention). The study concludes that the participation of specialists is an essential condition for the effective investigation of cybercrime and for ensuring fair judicial proceedings.
