This article analyzes the role of the mahalla, a unique institution of civil society in Uzbekistan, in combating crime and preventing offenses. It specifically reveals the criminological significance of the newly introduced "Mahalla Seven" system and its role in the early detection of the social, economic, and moral determinants of crime. Within the scope of the topic, the scholarly views of national and foreign academics are examined, and the author's own perspective on them is presented.
