This article examines the place and significance of theory of minor syntax (sub-sentential syntax) in modern linguistics. The theoretical interpretation of minor syntactic units within generative grammar, systemic-functional grammar, and cognitive-constructional grammar is reviewed. The concept of minor syntax developed by A. Turobov in Uzbek linguistics is evaluated in the context of world linguistic theories, and a cross-paradigmatic comparative analysis is conducted.
