The article reveals the state of traditional and modern medicine in the Turkestan region before the establishment of Soviet power and during the early years of Soviet rule. It was found that both types of medicine were unable to provide medical services to all women in the region. It is also demonstrated that the country’s severe economic situation and unstable political conditions affected women’s health.
