Annotatsiya

The article analyzes Sinclair Lewis's novel Kingsblood (1947), which explores the theme of racial inequality and social justice through the life of the protagonist, Neil Kingsblood. After returning from World War II, Neil learns that one of his ancestors was black, which causes disrespectful and humiliating treatment from his neighbors and colleagues. The family is forced to move to another place. The novel reflects both the tragic and comic moments of this discovery. Lewis uses Neil's story to artistically comprehend current social issues. The article emphasizes how the author masterfully embodies in his work the ideas of truth and goodness, which are still relevant today.
