By didactic competence we mean the integrative abilities of students aimed at solving didactic problems in the field of education and their further development. It is important to organize the independent work of students based on high-quality didactic and theoretical preparation of the teacher for the lesson, with an emphasis on the formation and development of didactic knowledge and skills in the course of this work. It is also necessary to introduce modern innovative approaches in the organization of the educational and upbringing process. This article examines the pedagogical possibilities of increasing the didactic competence of students in the process of independent work.
