This article explores the evolving concept of bioinformational resources-such as genomic and proteomic databases, algorithmic software, and biological sequence data-as objects of intellectual property law. Through an international legal analysis, the paper examines the applicability and limitations of existing IP frameworks, including patent law, copyright, trade secrets, and sui generis database rights.
