This article examines social assistance measures for elderly people in Uzbekistan, including international experience and the system of social support for pensioners, as well as state programs and social assistance policies implemented in the country since independence. The paper analyzes current issues and proposes potential solutions aimed at improving the effectiveness of social support for pensioners and individuals entitled to preferential pension benefits. Additionally, the article explores international experiences and opportunities for adapting successful practices to the context of Uzbekistan.
