This article analyzes issues related to the concept and essence of the procedural function of the head of the investigative body. Also, problems related to the fact that a correct understanding of the essence of procedural functions has a significant impact on the structure and principles of the entire criminal process have been thoroughly studied. At the same time, national and foreign scientists and legislation were analyzed.
