This article analyzes the main stages of development of English Romanticism, the creative characteristics of the "Lake School" poets, and George Gordon Byron's contribution to shaping the image of the Romantic hero. The main ideas, aesthetic principles, and philosophical motifs that defined the uniqueness of English Romantic literature in the early 19th century are examined.
