The article provides a comparative analysis of the peculiarities of the motif of disclosure in the works of Arthur Conan Doyle, a classic of English literature, and Tohir Malik, a prominent representative of Uzbek literature. In Doyle’s works, the motif is shaped by logical thinking and a scientific approach, while in Malik’s works it is manifested through national mentality, moral-ethical criteria, and social issues. The study reveals the commonalities and differences within the detective genre and determines the role and poetics of the motif of disclosure in English and Uzbek literature.
