This article analyzes the legal nature of energy as an object of civil law, addressing theoretical and practical issues related to its classification. The study examines scientific concepts concerning the assessment of energy as a physical object, commodity, service, or intangible property. It also highlights energy's position in legal transactions, as evidenced by the inclusion of energy supply contracts under the category of delivery contracts in current legislation. Furthermore, the article analyzes the challenges in determining the legal regime of energy, considering its unique characteristics such as its non-material form, inability to be stored, and the simultaneous nature of its production and consumption processes. The paper substantiates the necessity of distinguishing between the concepts of power and energy, arguing that they belong to different legal categories and should be regulated separately. The author presents conclusions and recommendations for improving the legal framework to effectively regulate civil law relations pertaining to energy.
