This article examines the institution of procedural coercive measures as a means of ensuring procedural discipline in the course of civil proceedings from both theoretical and practical perspectives. The subject of the study includes an analysis of the types of coercive measures provided for in civil procedural legislation, the grounds for their application, and their legal procedures. The relevance of the topic is justified by the need to prevent situations such as parties' failure to appear in court hearings, non-compliance with judicial instructions, and by the role these measures play in ensuring transparency and the principles of fair trial. The main goal of the study is to identify the legal grounds for the application of coercive measures in civil litigation and to develop proposals aimed at increasing their effectiveness. The research employs methods such as legal analysis, comparative study, and systematization. As a result, the article reveals the content of such measures as compulsory attendance, warnings, removal from the courtroom, and judicial fines, and shows how their effective use contributes to maintaining procedural discipline. The study also addresses issues related to the imposition of judicial fines, increasing or reducing their amount, substitution with other coercive measures, classification of procedural violations, and challenges arising in practice. The results may serve as a basis for improving legislation and can be applied in court practice.
