The article analyzes the travel memoirs of Mahmudxo'ja Behbudiy and Is'hoqxonto'ra Ibrat as scholarly sources, revealing the essence of progressive ideas related to modern education. These two Jadid enlighteners, who were active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, studied the developmental processes in areas such as education, press, libraries, theater, and healthcare during their foreign travels. Emphasizing the need to adapt the advanced practices they observed to the conditions of Turkestan, they carried out effective work in organizing schools, creating new textbooks, and developing the national press. In this study, their travel writings are examined using a comparative-analytical method, identifying views that interpret education as a leading factor in liberating society from ignorance and serving the spiritual growth of the nation. The legacy of Behbudiy and Ibrat remains relevant today and serves as an important theoretical and practical resource for reforms in the education system of Uzbekistan.
