The article addresses current issues regarding the use of specialized economic knowledge in criminal proceedings. The author provides a comprehensive analysis of the concept, main elements, and characteristics of specialized economic knowledge. The role and importance of such knowledge are revealed at various stages of criminal proceedings, including crime detection, evidence collection and preservation, conducting investigative actions, appointing and carrying out expert examinations, and determining the mechanisms of crime commission. The article highlights the distinctive features of specialized economic knowledge compared to specialized knowledge in other fields, particularly aspects such as the specificity of the subject and object of study, the breadth of application, the presence of quantitative indicators and a regulatory framework, dynamic variability, and forecasting capabilities. It is substantiated that the effective use of specialized economic knowledge is a crucial factor in improving the quality of evidence gathering and investigation in criminal cases.
