This article provides a comprehensive analysis of international standards and foreign countries' experiences in conducting investigative inspections. Specifically, it details the best practice guidelines widely employed in European countries, including requirements for the qualifications of personnel participating in inspections, the main stages of crime scene examination, and the characteristics of modern technical equipment used in the process. Additionally, the article comparatively analyzes the legal norms related to investigative inspections in the criminal procedure legislation of countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Japan, Germany, and China. As a result of these analyses, certain differences in national legislation were identified regarding the types of inspections, procedures for conducting them, and the participants involved. The author proposes several recommendations, including limiting the involvement of witnesses during the inspection process and introducing modern technologies instead, as well as implementing the practice of obtaining court sanctions for conducting inspections in residential premises.
