The article focuses on the electoral law in modern democratic states with an emphasis on reforms in Uzbekistan. It discusses key principles of electoral law, such as universality, equality, and direct voting, and their significance for democratic governance. Special attention is given to the development of an electoral system in Uzbekistan, the introduction of a mixed electoral system and a women's quota, and the digitization of the electoral process as well. The article also describes international standards and legal acts governing elections, highlighting the role of electoral law in strengthening democracy and national unity.
