This article analyzes the philosophical and mystical views of Khoja Yusuf Hamadani. In particular, the great sheikh’s work “Rutbatal-Hayat” is of considerable anthropological significance. It discusses human creation, the relationship between soul and body, theheart, dhikr, contemplation, faith, and Islam in a question-and-answer form based on verses from the Holy Qur’an and hadiths. Thearticle also examines Hamadani’s views on human perfection, discipline of the nafs, lawful sustenance, spiritual exercise, self-struggle, and remembrance of God as important factors of moral and spiritual development.
