This article examines the diversity of folk songs of Koreans in Uzbekistan that have been preserved through the historical migration of the Korean people, as well as their distribution and functioning within the musical life of the Korean diaspora in Uzbekistan. The study analyzes songs brought from the Korean Peninsula alongside those that emerged during the migration process. Particular attention is given to the most significant Korean folk songs transmitted through older generations, including “Homesickness,” “The Weaver,” and “Toradi Tareng.” Each of these songs is analyzed in terms of melodic structure, modal and intonational features, metrorhythmic organization, and content. Their semantic and poetic dimensions are explored, revealing their spiritual depth, cultural significance, and functional role.The philosophical meaning of one of the most well-known versions of the song “Arirang” is examined, and its regional variants are discussed.In conclusion, the article identifies the distinctive features of Korean folk songs, highlighting their national identity and uniqueness, their differences from the musical traditions of other cultures, and the ways in which Korean song traditions continue to develop within the contemporary cultural life of Uzbekistan.
