This article examines music as a fundamental cultural and psychological phenomenon that has accompanied humanity since ancient times. The study analyzes the origins of music from an anthropological and ethnomusicological perspective, emphasizing its role in ritual practices, social cohesion, emotional regulation, and communication in early human societies. Special attention is given to the neurobiological basis of musical perception and its influence on emotional and cognitive processes. The paper explores the main branches of music psychology, including the psychology of musical creativity, performance, perception, and music education. Furthermore, the article analyzes modern approaches to music therapy and its application in clinical and educational contexts. Special emphasis is placed on the effectiveness of music therapy in working with children with autism spectrum disorders, demonstrating improvements in attention, emotional stability, communication skills, and social adaptation. The findings confirm that music therapy plays a significant role in contemporary psychological and medical practice, contributing to emotional balance, cognitive development, and social integration. The study underlines the interdisciplinary significance of music as a universal tool influencing human consciousness, health, and cultural development.
