Introduction. Violence against children remains one of the most serious global social and psychological problems, affecting not only the physical and mental well-being of children but also the functioning of the family as a whole. The World Health Organization defines violence against children as all forms of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, neglect, and exploitation that may result in actual or potential harm to a child's health, development, dignity, or survival. Scientific evidence indicates that exposure to violence disrupts children's emotional development, impairs their capacity to establish trusting relationships, and increases the risk of long-term psychological disorders. The family represents the primary social environment in which children develop interpersonal communication skills, emotional regulation, and patterns of social interaction. Healthy family relationships contribute to psychological security, whereas dysfunctional family environments characterized by violence, conflict, or neglect undermine children's emotional stability and social adaptation. Numerous psychological studies have demonstrated that children who experience violence often exhibit anxiety, depression, aggression, low self-esteem, emotional withdrawal, and difficulties in interpersonal communication. These psychological consequences frequently extend into adolescence and adulthood, influencing future family relationships and social functioning.
