Under conditions of intense physical exertion, effective recovery of the body is a key issue for athletes. This study investigates the effects of spirulina — a natural source of antioxidants and biologically active compounds — on the morphofunctional characteristics of muscle tissue and myocardium under extreme physical loads in an animal model, ana evaluates its effectiveness as a means of metabolic support in sports practice. Experimental findings revealed reduced tissue damage and accelerated regeneration following spirulina intake, confirmed by morphometric and immunohistochemical analyses. Clinical observations in young athletes showed improvedfunctional parameters and increased physical endurance when spirulina was included in the diet. The results support the use of spirulina as a promising agent for optimizing recovery processes and enhancing athletic performance.
