Annotatsiya

The years of the Second World War were years of profound losses for the visual arts of Uzbekistan and, at the same time, years of renewal and development.   During the war years, graphics became a priority in mobilizing the people in the struggle against fascism, and in the first days of the war the Union of Artists began producing posters. In the fall of 1941, posters were published in Tashkent under the title “Window of Uztag (Uzbek Telegraph Agency)”. “Window UzTAG” fulfilled the tasks of promptly transmitting reactions to events taking place in the front, republican and international life, especially to expose fascism. Historical genres were also developed in the visual arts.
