In this article, the author explores the geographical location of the Tocharistan kingdom, situated on the upper course of the Amudarya during the early Middle Ages, its socio-economic life, and the diverse characteristics of the coins minted in the region, relying on the accounts of travel scholars, written sources, and modern literature. Tokharistan was closely connected culturally and economically not only with neighboring Sassanid Iran, but also with Sogd and India. Archaeological finds from the region reveal elements of Hellenism, Buddhism, and Zoroastrianism. It is scientifically proven that from the Bronze Age to the late Middle Ages, Tokharistan was a strategically important place that served as a place of fusion of different cultures, contributing to the formation of Uzbek statehood.
