The article presents an analysis of materials of the monetary and weight systems of Sogdia and Chach. For both regions, the weight values of the shekel and karshi were calculated; these units functioned as units of account rather than coins actually minted, but they were actively used in monetary circulation. The “stater n’krtk” (silver stater or weight stater) in Sogdia and Chach weighed approximately 16–17 grams, close to the Attic tetradrachm. In the monetary-weight system of Sogdia from the 4th to 8th centuries CE, the “stater n’krtk” served as a weighted cash coin in international trade. It was also in use in Khorezm, Chach, and Parthia, with its employment as a monetary unit traceable to the 2nd century BCE in Western Sogdia, Khorezm, and possibly Chach. This unit represents a component of the scale systems of Sogdia and Chach in antiquity and the early Middle Ages. In practice, the “styrk n’krtk” (silver stater) corresponded in size to a tetradrachm and contained four drachms. Other monetary and weight units are also partially attested, including: δyn’r - denar, snk - weight, δrmsng - weight drachma, knpy – “a little” in the designation of weight, dān (ag) - small coin, obol?, δrγmyh δyn’rk’h.
