This study examines archaeological artifacts recovered during excavations at the Balandtepa and Munchoqtepa sites—remains of the ancient city of Bob (Pop) in the Pop district of Namangan region—using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis. The excavations were conducted by the Ahsikent Archaeological Expedition of the Samarkand Archaeology Institute in 1987–1989. In this article, a total of 28 metal objects, including jewelry, cosmetic containers, and other goldsmith items, whose elemental compositions were previously unknown, have been analyzed. The XRF analysis has identified up to 17 chemical elements in the samples, including Al, Bi, Co, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, P, Pb, S, Sb, Si, Sr, Sn, Ti, Zn, and Zr. The examined objects have been found to consist of various copper alloys, with copper content ranging from approximately 54% to 95%. Mixtures of lead (up to 22.7%), tin (up to 43.3%), and zinc (up to 14.2%) have also been detected. Notably, one bronze ring contained 18.9% iron. Elemental compositions have been determined using a portable X-ray fluorescence spectrometer available at the Samarkand Archaeology Institute.
