The article presents the first comprehensive analysis of V. Vyatkin’s collection, transferred to the Samarkand Museum in 1933 and currently preserved in the archaeological fund of the Samarkand State Museum-Reserve. Vyatkin is a scholar who made a significant contribution to the study of Turkestan in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The article provides a detailed description of V. Vyatkin’s collections, assembled in modern Uzbekistan, particularly at the important archaeological sites of Afrosiyob and the Ulugh Beg Observatory. The author analyzes the collections, which include ceramics, metalwork, and other household items of particular significance for the study of the history of Samarkand and its environs. This research is of great importance to specialists in the fields of archaeology, history, and museology. It demonstrates how the legacy of one researcher can serve as a foundation for further scholarly research and is important for anyone interested in the history of Turkestan and the region’s cultural ties.
