The article explores the role and importance of national and universal values in modern society, as well as analyzes the process of development of these values in Uzbekistan and Korea. It has been revealed that the harmony of the material and spiritual life of the family and society is the most important factor in the development of society, especially the formation and development of civil society. It has also been pointed out that in some periods it has arisen as a result of a one-sided view of the problems which hinder the development of society.
