Time-Frequency Analysis of Small-Scale Magnetic Bipoles in Cycles 23 and 24

By analyzing MDI (Michelson Doppler Imager) data, we investigate changes in the number of small-scale magnetic bipoles (MBs) as a part of solar activity, in 23 and half 24 solar cycles. The presence of periodic variations is further checked by applying a wavelet analysis. The wavelet spectra of the time profile of the MB number (with level of magnetic flux 20 and 30 Gauss) showed a clear 11-year periodicity to the cyclicity of the solar activity flow
