This article analyzes the possibilities and advantages of edutainment technology in teaching Uzbek oral communication to foreign learners. The psychological characteristics of students, along with their strong interest in modern technologies, require the educational process to be organized through innovative approaches. From this perspective, the edutainment concept – which integrates educational and entertaining elements – is presented as one of the relevant directions in contemporary pedagogical research. The emergence of edutainment is associated with the use of instructional animated films, computer games, multimedia CD-ROMs, and interactive programs; with the rapid spread of the internet and digital technologies, edutainment has entered a new stage through online platforms, video content, and mobile applications. The article examines how this historical experience of edutainment is applied in modern Uzbek-language teaching practices. It demonstrates that the use of audiovisual materials, animated clips, interactive tasks, gamified exercises, and scripted dialogues makes the learning process more natural, motivating, and intensive. The article concludes with insights into the role of edutainment methods in intensive language instruction, the importance of adapted multimedia resources for foreign learners, and their effectiveness in practical communication.
