This article examines the role of international social standards in developing the professional competence of senior school students. In the context of globalization, educational content must align not only with national priorities but also with internationally recognized frameworks. Competency models designed by UNESCO, OECD, ESCO, and ILO aim to enhance students’ professional readiness, communication culture, critical thinking, collaboration skills, digital literacy, and adaptability to labor market demands. The study highlights the advantages, methodological approaches, and practical mechanisms for integrating these international standards into school curricula. It also examines assessment criteria for evaluating students’ competencies in accordance with global benchmarks. The article provides scientific and practical recommendations for strengthening students’ career orientation, preparing them for future professions, understanding labor market expectations, and fostering global citizenship skills. A competency-based approach informed by international standards contributes to improving educational quality and ensuring students’ competitiveness in rapidly changing socio-economic conditions. Furthermore, the article emphasizes the value of innovative pedagogical technologies, project-based learning, STEAM approaches, communicative tasks, and digital learning platforms in enhancing key competencies. It is argued that international standards act as an integrative mechanism that helps students develop social adaptability, professional maturity, cross-cultural awareness, and readiness for participation in the global workforce.
