The article is devoted to the linguocultural features of idioms as carriers of cultural information in English, Russian, and Uzbek languages. The concept of idioms, their functions, and their role in conveying national mentality are examined. A comparative-linguistic analysis of idioms in the three languages was conducted, revealing both common and specific features reflecting historical, everyday, and socio-cultural realities. The main functions of idioms are identified: communicative, heuristic, and socio-cultural. The practical significance of the study lies in enhancing the effectiveness of foreign language teaching, intercultural communication, and translation activities.
